TEAM 5 FROM COLTON HILLS COMMUNITY SCHOOL

CELEBRATE SUCCESS AT "THE PUBLIC"

 

 

Team 5, a student business team from Colton Hills School, won the Wolverhampton and the Black Country area of the Young Enterprise Company Programme.  This follows their success at Wolverhampton University on 12 April.  The team are now preparing for the Midlands Final which is being held on 12 June at Birmingham University.

 

The product "Fun5" along with Team 5's skills, qualities and enthusiasm has proved to be a winning combination.

 

"All involved are true role models to others and have shown outstanding commitment to the business" quoted Mr G Kennedy Head of Business Studies.

COLTON HILLS STUDENTS WIN TOP ENTERPRISE AWARDS

 

Business students from Colton Hills Community School are celebrating another major achievement after winning all three categories at The Young Enterprise Awards on Tuesday 27 April at Wolverhampton University.

 

Eighteen students representing their company "Team 5" were proud to accept the award for Best Trade Fair Stand from the managers of The Wulfrun Centre, the award for the Best Company Report from Lloyds TSB and for the finale, the team received the Young Enterprise Award for the Best Company overall. 

 

Team 5's innovative product, based on 5-a-day healthy eating along with 5 active exercises is child friendly and helps parents to encourage their children to exercise and eat healthily.  The group have been supported by the Parliamentary Candidate for Wolverhampton South East, Pat McFadden, who has been a regular visitor to the school over the last few months.

Mr Kennedy, the Coordinator for Business Studies said, "I am very proud of their achievements, which is a reflection on their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.  I wish "Team 5" all the best when representing Wolverhampton at the Black Country Final to be held on May 12 at The Public, West Bromwich."
