Headteacher's Message

As a Local Authority Comunity school we are proud of our role in providing a secondary education for young people living in the South of Wolverhampton.

Our school is a very diverse community.  We celebrate this fact and welcome the wonderful cultural and linguistic opportunities this presents.  Our specialism as a Language College provides us with many opportunities to promote the value of language learning and the benefits that this provides.

In our most recent OFSTED inspection the school was judged as having good relationships between students and staff and to be a place where students enjoy their learning, behave well and apply themselves to their work.  It was also highlighted that the school functions well as a diverse and harmonious community.

We want every child who studies at this school to be successful.  This is not just in academic areas, although this is very important to us.  We also want students to understand their duty to be morally and socially responsible and to grow in to confident, capable young people, well-prepared for adult life and ready to contribute positively to their local and wider communities.  We summarise this in our school aim of "excellence for all".

Our strengths are many.  In particular we focus a great deal of our resources to ensure that all students are safe in school and that they have the support to keep them on a successful track.  We have a very successful Sixth Form.  Most of our Year 11 students return to study a range of academic and vocational courses and then move on to University.

We believe in hard work, in encouraging achievement of all kinds, and in setting high standards.  We know that with good teaching, a well-disciplined environment and a structured system of guidance students will achieve the success they deserve.

The school has outstanding facitities which we readily make available to our community.  In particular our Swimming Pool, Sports Hall, Theatre and Dance Studio are high-quality resources that meet the needs of a whole range of groups.

We believe that only so much can be gained from looking at information on a website.  If you want to know more why not come and see the school? Please use the contacts information to arange a visit.
