GCSE Examination Results 2017
Congratulations to our students on their success with this year’s GCSE examination results!
Following on from our good ‘A’ Level results last week it was the turn of our Year 11 students to celebrate today - so many students achieved good and outstanding results. It was also the year when the new more difficult GCSE’s were introduced in English and Mathematics.
As a true community school, we cater for students from a wide range of backgrounds, circumstances and needs and once again, as measured by our initial Progress 8 score, the progress our students made from their starting points is above the national average, which is a cause for celebration.
Whilst there are too many students to write about the following are worthy of mention: Gitanjali Kambo who achieved eight A’s, Ramanpreet Singh who achieved five A*’s and three A’s and Harjot Singh who achieved three A*’s and three A’s. Particular mention must go to Crina Popat, who was amongst only 3% of the country able to score the highest new grade 9 in English Language, and Jasbir Kaur who, despite only being in the country for a year, achieved grades high enough to qualify for A ‘Level study next year.
Headteacher, Alberto Otero said,
‘Our hard-working students deserve our congratulations for what they have achieved, for themselves, their families and their futures in 2017. It is also very encouraging that so many want to continue their studies at our Sixth-Form. The Governors and I would like to thank all the teachers, staff and parents who have supported them magnificently over the years. Once again, it was a team effort that testifies to the school’s vision of a community which learns, grows, achieves and delivers for young people year on year’
