Government National Voucher Scheme for FSM

As you know for the first 2 weeks of the school closure we provided a food hamper service. This was extremely successful and I thank all staff for their contribution to this scheme, it was an amazing success.

From week 3 week commencing 6 April

The School will be using the Government National Voucher Scheme for FSM.

You will be contacted to ensure we have the correct email address for you to receive your electronic e code/gift card voucher each week. This will replace the hamper scheme which has been operating for the last two weeks.

Please do not contact us we will be in touch to set this system up and give you all the details for you to redeem your gift card voucher.

Government National Voucher Scheme for FSM

The national scheme provides supermarket vouchers via the Edenred online portal.

  • We will set up set a weekly £15 rolling voucher for every child eligible for benefits-related free school meals.

  • We will send an ‘eCode’ directly to the parent or carers of the pupils(s) eligible for free school meals – you will need to choose an eGift card from a range of supermarkets

Supermarkets available

Through Edenred, you can currently access eGift cards for the following supermarkets:

  • Morrisons

  • Tesco

  • Sainsbury’s

  • Asda

  • Waitrose

  • M&S

Redeeming the vouchers

Once families have received their voucher, they will be able to redeem them in-store at the selected retailer by either:

  • presenting the voucher on a smartphone or tablet

  • presenting a paper copy of the voucher

Families are free to select the most appropriate food and drink for their child. When selecting products, we encourage families to consider health and nutrition. The School Food Standards may act as a useful guide for families.

The vouchers should not be redeemed for any age-restricted items, such as alcohol, cigarettes or lottery tickets.

Free School Meals: Coronavirus (COVID-19): temporary extension of free school meals eligibility to No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) Groups.

If you are having trouble with voucher, please read.
