The Quality in Careers Standard
On 15th December 2017 Colton Hills Community School was awarded the Quality in Careers Standard. This award is recognition that the advice and guidance given to students throughout their time at Colton Hills regarding their future pathway is independent and meets the criteria for the national standard expected. On the feedback received the assessors commented:
“...the Prospects Accreditation Board met on 15th December 2017 and unanimously agreed that Colton Hills should be accredited with the national Quality in Careers Standard, which recognises the high standard of your careers provision. It is a real achievement.
The Accreditation Board commended the prominent profile of the careers offer across the school, along with strong support at senior leader and governor level. Students were very positive about the help they receive to help them to make career and learning decisions at each key transition stage.”
To attain this award takes all of the staff and external agency support, particularly Emma Lopez from Connexions, to achieve this standard.
